  • Coreless direct drive motor achieving stable rotation
  • ΔΣ-Drive suppresses vibrations from the motor for smoother, more accurate rotation
  • Anti-vibration structure with a three-layer platter and a two-layer chassis
  • Low-noise, low-voltage power circuit and a switching power supply
  • Tonearm achieving high Initial-motion sensitivity
  • High-rigidity body and high-damping silicon insulators for smooth sound and isolation from various vibrations

Coreless Direct Drive Motor

Achieving Stable Rotation

In the SL-1300G, the use of a coreless direct-drive motor with no iron core eliminates uneven rotation of the turntable known as cogging. Also, the twin-rotor construction reduces the bearing load while maintaining high torque, and reduces minute vibrations during rotation. Furthermore, the SL 1300G’s motor was redesigned to eliminate subtle vibrations that could affect sound quality. To improve rigidity, the same reinforcement pattern as the Reference Class SL-1000R/SP 10R was used for the coil mounting base.

Motor-Drive System, ΔΣ Drive(Delta

Sigma Drive)

Unlock a realm of audio precision with the ΔΣ-Drive – a state-of-the-art system harnessing Technics’ expertise in PWM signal processing. In addition to reducing harmonics, the drive suppresses vibrations from the motor for smoother, more accurate rotation, ensuring a rich reproduction of the music.

Vibration Resistance Design

The turntable has a three-layered construction with a rigidly combined brass and aluminium die-cast platter. With a deadening rubber covering its entire rear surface to eliminate unnecessary resonance, thereby achieving high rigidity and vibration damping. This delivers smooth rotational stability and inertial mass surpassing the SP-10MK2, the direct-drive turntable standard used by broadcast stations worldwide, as well as having more than twice the inertial mass of the SL-1200MK5.

The SL-1300G ensures high rigidity by using a body with a two-layered construction that solidly unifies the BMC and the aluminum die-cast chassis. Reinforcing ribs have been added between the motor/tone arm on the top panel. This improves rigidity and vibration damping characteristics.

When the weight distribution of the turntable is uneven, excess vibration or noise occurs during rotation, which causes degradation in sound quality. Therefore, the balance of the turntable is adjusted at the factory by using specialized high-precision balance adjustment equipment for each and every item after the turntable is assembled. Turntables that have undergone adjustment are labelled with a sticker reading “BALANCED” to indicate that adjustment has been done.

Multi-Stage Silent Power Supply

Use of a high-speed switching power supply ensures a stable supply capacity and less ripple and humming. Applying a switching power supply to a turntable eliminates the need for a large transformer and countermeasures for the ensuing mechanical vibrations. A switching frequency of above 100 kHz limits the impact of noise on the music playback bandwidth.

This technology combines a noise detection device with an error amplifier. It detects residual noise in the power supply and applies an inverse phase current to remove noise components. It removes low frequency noise more effectively than a regulator to ensure a more ideal power supply.

Tonearm Achieving High

InitialMotion Sensitivity

The tonearm, a crucial component for precise reading, tracks the record's rotation. Inherited from Technics, it employs a lightweight, rigid aluminum pipe in the traditional static-balance universal S-shape. Featuring a gimbal suspension and high-precision bearing, it achieves high initial-motion sensitivity through manual assembly by skilled Japanese artisans. This meticulous construction ensures accurate tracing of record grooves. Plus, it includes an auxiliary weight, providing flexibility for a variety of pickup cartridges.

Features for Clearer Sound

For the insulators supporting the body, the SL-1300G uses special silicon rubber that ensures high vibration damping characteristics and long-term reliability.

The turntable uses gold-plated phono terminals for detachable cables, while metal shielding construction inside the case reduces the effects of external noise.

Eco-friendly Cushioning/Packaging

Materials

The SL-1300G adopts eco friendly packaging materials to help curtail marine plastics and other environmental problems. The cushioning has been changed from styrene foam to corrugated cardboard, reducing the amount of plastic used by around 70% compared to existing product packaging. We have also taken steps to improve convenience by combining accessories into one box while maintaining the strength of the cushioning to protect against the product’s heavy weight.

Klipsch La Scala AL6 Speakers

The Klipsch La Scala® fits classic Klipschorn® magic into a smaller but no less mighty package.

60+ YEARS OF SOUND

Originally, unveiled in 1963, Paul W. Klipsch offered it to Arkansas gubernatorial hopeful Winthrop Rockefeller to use as a loudspeaker. Rockefeller went on to use the speaker on a train car later in his political career. This legendary loudspeaker is the modern update to its storied older brother, offering contemporary sound and looks while adhering firmly to the core principles Paul W. Klipsch developed more than a decade and a half earlier.

EVEN
BETTER BALANCE

The AL6 is available with an optional Heritage Active Crossover tuned specifically for La Scala speakers. Trickle-down technology from our heralded Klipsch Jubilee floorstanding speakers, the Heritage Active DSP aligns time and phase while boosting frequencies and balancing EQ for a flat, color-free response.

ADD THE HERITAGE ACTIVE CROSSOVER TO UNLOCK YOUR LOUDSPEAKERS’ FULL CAPABILITY

ACTIVE & PASSIVE SETUPS

To accommodate the Heritage Active Crossover and give listeners more options, we've modified the I/O panel. It now includes passive and active inputs and a passive output, so customizing your setup is easy. We've also moved the panel to the speaker's back for a cleaner look from almost any angle.

THREE-WAY, HORN-LOADED EFFICIENCY

La Scala’s three-way, horn-loaded system makes it leagues more efficient than the average loudspeaker. For the AL6, we couple each driver to a precisely measured horn and optimize it for one of three pass-bands. This design generates greater acoustic power with less wattage, producing crystal clear sound with minimal distortion across the frequency spectrum.

EXTENDED PHASE PLUG FOR HEAVENLY HIGHS

We’ve paired our K-771 compression driver with a new, patented, extended phase plug to prevent cancellations and equalize wavelengths for cleaner dispersion. That means you get more coverage and clarity than ever before.

3" COMPRESSION DRIVER PUMPS UP THE POWER

Our new, cinema grade, mid-range K1133 compression driver adds a full inch to the drivers on previous AL5 models. Hand-built in Hope, Arkansas, the larger compression area increases sound pressure to the horn’s throat for more voluptuous volume.

SPREAD THE SOUNDSTAGE WITH TRACTRIX AND MUMPS

The AL6 gets the Tractrix® treatment. The new K-406M patented Tractrix mid-range horn features a shorter, 2" throat for unparalleled presence and precision. Mumps technology improves coverage, adding small contours to help maintain frequency response to the horn’s edge.

BRING OUT THE BASS

The all-new, patented horn-loaded, vented system synthesizes all of the efficiency of a ported and horn-loaded cabinet, producing richer and more robust bass than ever before.

BOOK MATCHED IN 3 FINISHES

Each La Scala speaker features a natural wood, book-matched veneer in one of three finishes: American Walnut, American Auburn, and Black Ash.

IN FOR THE LONG HAUL

Because Klipsch Heritage speakers are built to last, we offer a 10-year warranty on all current and future generation Heritage Classic speakers.

Audio-Technica AT-ART20 Phono Cartridge

A new realm of analog sound

Audio-Technica is pleased to introduce the AT-ART20, the latest cartridge in our ART Series that will allow you to experience a new world of sound. As with previous magnetic core cartridges in our high-end lineup, we had two main goals in developing the AT-ART20: provide superlative analog sound reproduction and optimize the performance and benefits of a magnetic core cartridge.

The AT-ART20 has been designated an Audio-Technica Excellence Product, a recognition that identifies products that meet our highest standards of high-fidelity performance.

Based on cartridge technologies and know-how cultivated over our long history, and employing the best materials and advanced processing techniques, we created a magnetic core moving coil cartridge that’s optimally structured to reproduce sound with the full expressiveness of the original recording.

The high-frequency response of the AT-ART20 is extended and detailed, while the low-frequency sound, which cartridges tend to bury, is reproduced with full clarity and force. Vocals come through with all the variety and expressiveness of the human voice, even at low volumes, and, indeed, the full character of the sound source blossoms anew for the listener, with extended sound depth and rich spatial imaging to convey the original environment of the performance.

Unprecedented, Emotional Sound Quality

All sonic details carefully and accurately reproduced

Unparalleled expressive power to depict every tone and space
As a top-of-the-line MC cartridge, the AT-ART20 transmits an astonishing amount of information with high resolution, while capturing musical expression. The sound field stage is realistic, regardless of music genre, fully delivering the expressiveness of a performer's voice and the instrument’s original dynamic qualities.

High-quality terminal pins with thick gold plating
The thickness of the gold-plated portion has been increased to approximately 30 times than that of conventional products to reduce contact resistance.

Resonance suppression by combining various materials
The cartridge construction consists of an aluminum base, titanium housing, and elastomer undercover. The unique combination of these materials minimizes resonance.

Design That Expresses a Sense of Life and Dynamism

Utilizing Fukui Prefecture’s world-class technology in cartridges

Precision-machined titanium with polished finish
By utilizing the advanced cutting and polishing technologies cultivated in the eyeglass industry of Sabae City, Fukui Prefecture, which has a history stretching back more than 100 years, Audio-Technica has realized an organic design with a beautifully curved surface that has never been seen in a cartridge before. The combination of this design and advanced cutting technology has also made it possible to reduce the thickness of the titanium, resulting in a significant weight reduction.

Magnetic Core MC with a Superb Sound

Cartridge finished in Japan

Newly designed magnetic circuit improves the cartridge’s efficiency
Based on the magnetic circuit of the AT-ART9XI, the front yoke is 0.6 mm (0.024″) thicker to improve magnetic flux density. By increasing the efficiency, more realistic sound quality is achieved. Output voltage is improved by more than 15% without increasing the number of coil turns which can increase mass and impedance.

Lighter and More Responsive with a New Stylus/Cantilever Assembly

Strengthened cantilever improves high-frequency characteristics

Tip reinforcement plate made of titanium reduces stylus tip mass

As in the flagship model of the ART Series, the AT-ART1000, titanium is used for the tip reinforcement plate that holds the diamond tip in place. This reduces its mass and improves the high-frequency characteristics.

Special line contact stylus and 0.28 mm (0.011″) diameter solid boron cantilever

A nude special line contact stylus is used to provide premium high-frequency response with minimal inner-groove distortion for consistent reproduction across the entire record. The special line contact shape also causes very little abrasion, resulting in long stylus life and low record wear.

A rectangular shank mounts the stylus to the cantilever, ensuring precise alignment with the record groove and reducing mass to improve transient and frequency response (20 – 50,000 Hz).

In addition, a stepped pipe structure is used, connecting the cantilever and armature increasing rigidity, which improves the strength of the cantilever and suppresses unwanted vibrations.

Please Note: AT-ART20’s stylus assembly is not field-replaceable, but Audio-Technica offers a fee-based Moving Coil Exchange Program to properly service your moving coil cartridge.
